Welcome to Nottingham Psychology & Psychotherapy Services (NPPS)

Nottingham Psychology & Psychotherapy Services aims to offer an effective and responsive range of psychological interventions, supervision and training tailored to the needs of individuals, couples and organisations within Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.

Dr Lisa Ball has over 20 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist in the NHS and in private practice delivering a range of services. For more information, please visit the About Me page.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a talking therapy that looks to help you manage problems by enabling you to recognise, and ultimately change, the way you think and behave.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Mindfulness aims to reconnect us with ourselves to alleviate stress. It also helps us to feel more attuned with our emotions and generally more aware of ourselves both mentally and physically.

Psychodynamic Therapy

The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to bring the unconscious mind into consciousness – helping individuals to unravel, experience and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them.

Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)

While the primary goal of short-term psychodynamic therapy is very similar to psychoanalysis (and thus psychodynamic therapy), rather than acting as a neutral observer of a client’s personal development, a short-term psychodynamic therapist will be an active advocate of change.

Critical Incident Stress Management

Critical Incident Stress Management, or CISM, is an intervention protocol developed specifically for dealing with traumatic events often known as psychological de-briefing.

Supervision

I enjoy being involved in the supervisory relationship and helping supervisees develop in their practice whether this be at a trainee level or as a qualified professionals.
